You have a lot of positive energy here...I like where you are going and what you are trying to do!

In my experience with realism, time and patience are key(i have neither...). Start with harder pencils slowly building up values and structure. Then work in darker values with softer pencils. All in all, a good realistic drawing will take hours...I know...ugh...haha.

But I like how you are not afraid to waste paper. That is great! Keep pushing yourself. There is an artist...skottie young...not a realist...but he has incredible work ethic. He has great lessons on pushing yourself and finding out who you are as an artist. Check him out. That might be some help.

Your proportions are great...now you just need to force more detail.

Here are some incredible examples...well beyond what I'm capable of...but if you want realism, these guys are getting it done! Each is a little different so take a look at them and really delve into some thought on what you like and where you want to go with your work.
